two-time caldecott-winning author-illustrator (and bbgb superfavE), sophie blackall, will be sharing her hilariously brilliant new picture book, if i was a horse. an ode to imagination, and a little bit of mischief, this book is sophie’s response to the age-old childhood inquiry:

“if you could be a _________, what would you do?”

the event will consist of a talk followed by a q&a. this portion of the event is ticketed to restrict capacity in our shop, and includes one signed copy of if i was a horse. we recommend arriving early for best seating.

a public signing will follow the talk. you must purchase (or have purchased) a copy of the book from bbgb to enter the signing line, which will open at 6:20pm.

about the creator

Sophie Blackall is the bestselling and two-time Caldecott medal-winning artist behind Finding Winnie: The True Story of the World's Most Famous Bear, Hello, Lighthouse and Farmhouse. She is also the proprietor of Milkwood, a creative retreat for children’s book makers. She lives between Brooklyn and a farm in upstate New York.
